ACO Supafare
Crowds flock to Stamford supermarket
Stamford saw a revolution In shopping when the town's first supermarket opened on St.
Peter's street today.
Market day shoppers crowded into the gaily painted, centrally heated, ACO Supafare, owned by local businessman, Mr. Stanley Atkin to get their free gift.
Chickens, breakfast cereals, hampers and many other groceries were given away.
Mr. Atkins's shop, which is in the west of Stamford, away from the main shopping centre, has advantage of a good parking area, a facility lacking in the town's
shopping centre.
Extensive advertising In newspapers and on television has drawn the people from surrounding villages to the most modern shopping centre in East Anglia.
