The Elsons were bakers in Stamford for 20 years, occupying 1 and 2 St George's Street until Mr Elson's death in 1902.
Soon afterwards his widow Elizabeth moved to 64 High Street firstly as a confectioner. By 1911 her daughter and 2 sons were assisting in the business and she was listed as a baker and confectioner.
Elizabeth Elson retired to live at 27 Prince's Road in the early 1920s and the shop was briefly occupied by T B Marsden before it was taken over by the Neeves.
