11 All Saints' Place
In 1851 John Featherstone was a butcher in Grimsby. He moved to 11 All Saints Place still carrying on the trade. After John’s death in 1879, his son Louis ran the business with the help of his brothers Walter and Frank. Louis died in 1893 and his brother Walter took over the business. Walter only had one son Frank who served in World War One.
Walter gave up the business in Stamford and moved to Christchurch in Hampshire where he died in 1919. Frank was recorded as a butcher in Christchurch in 1939.
In 1920 Thomas Harry Wright was a butcher at no. 11 until Peter Johnson moved here in the 1970s from 2 All Saints Street.
Trendalls were the last butchers here who stayed a few years in the 1980s after which it became a restaurant.
