George Bellamy Markham lived here in 1901.
He was a self-employed butcher and had an assistant.

He used facilities at 4 St Peter's Street which had been a butcher's business run by William Waterfield until his death in 1894.

George moved to 10 High Street, St. Martins, the butcher's shop previously run by Harry Riley. and was living there in 1911 as employer with his assistant.

George died in 1915 at the age of 45 when the pitchfork he was carrying was struck by lightning but his wife continued running the business into the 1920s.
